10th September
Today we sarted to create our school magazine, to do this we had to use photoshop, we therefore learnt the basics of using the aplication including how to insert and edit the pictrues. On our magazine we had to include what our cover lines were going be and what the magazine was going to be based on. Additionally we then had to insert a picture for our magazine cover, doing this meant we learnt how to take a 'medium long shot' and how to edit it so it fits right on cover to look genuine.
14th September
Today we started to do work on our textual analysis on a magazine of our choice (rolling stones) from this task I learnt about the aspects and features of a magazine front cover such as the masthead, cover lines, costume, NVC etc. This helped me understand the features of a magazine cover and the key terms needed to analyse the cover. We were then also given homework to take pictures for our school magazine for homework
21st September
Today we started taking the pictures for our school magazine, this included getting a medium long shot of someone in school. This would then show that the pictures were taken in blackfen for the blackfen magazine we were designing,
23rd September
In todays lesson we began to start making and designing our websie on Wix.com we leaned how to use the differet tools and create new pages for each section of the website we need to put our work in. We did this so we could put our analysis of the magazine cover on the website in the research on music magazines section.
28th November
After making the website, we then uploaded our textual analysis on a front cover of a magazine cover belonging to an existing magazine brand I uploaded this into the research into existing music magazines. We then also uploaded out finished school magazines we had made in the premilary task section of my website. This would then enable me to look back on the research that i did for any ideas for help on my music magazine that I am going to create.
7th October
Today we started on our contents analysis, this involved writing about different magazine contents pages and how they were laid out. This included putting how many sections each on had as well as the colour scheme used for each magazine also inserting a tableinto the word listing the how many sections and colours used in the contents page
13th October
For homework we had to gather research by asking other people what they thought looked beter on a magazine and whether or not they liked certain picture or layouts. To do this we had to do it over socila media, by imesage or facebook message and screenshot it. In lesson we then had to upload the images to our website on our audience research tab to refer back to and see what research I collected so i know what the audience wanted.
22nd October
To start prducing our double page spreads for our magazine we had to look at existing double page spreads and then compared them, I used magazine's such as rolling stones and NME due to the fact that they relate to my genre of music i am basing my magaxine on. Doing so included comparing the colours and the pictures and how they were photographed. This would then give me ideas for my double page spread and how i could place my pictures and article. The DPS comparison helped me to use new key words uch as masthead etc.
02nd October
After doing research for the double page spread we then had to start creating the double page spread which we did on photoshop, by adding the different sections an placing and designing them and how I wanted the double page spread to look like. I also started to look at any fonts that I may have wanted to use on DaFont.com and then adding the ones i wanted on my website to show which ones I may use on my DPS
November
In todays coursework lesson we started the actual DPS for our magazine by adding a footer to the magazine, which meant adding page numbers and the name of the magazine. We woould then also choose the colours we wanted and how big/small we wanted tht footer to be. From then we designed the DPS and added space for pictures and the main article for the main magazine.
16th November
We were also given homework to write an article for the magazine DPS and to choose a storyline for the magazine and the main story we had to add an edge to. We aso had t use an exciting story line to use fo the magazine which would determine the gender of the model for the magazine picture
7th December
After completing most of my DPS I then started to design my contents page for the magazine by adding boxes onto a new page on photoshop which was going to be the main design for it, The boxes would show where i wanted the tet and the pctures and the headlines etc.
8th December
For homework we were then asked to take pictures for our contents page and our DPS if we hadnt done it yet, We had to ake photographic pictures which meant the model doing different poses relating to the genre of the magazine. This also maent dressing them in specfic clothing e.g dark clothes with splash of colour.
